Timeless Treasures Picnic Day!

A 30th Anniversary Celebration

The Columbia Gorge Museum is excited to celebrate its 30th Anniversary with a special Timeless Treasures Picnic Day on May 17, from 12:00pm – 4:00pm (rain date: May 31).

 

This free community event invites visitors of all ages to bring a picnic and enjoy an afternoon filled with nostalgic fun, games, and historical exploration.

Event Highlights:

  • Dedication of the Never Forget Garden to All Veterans: This collaboration with the Society of the Honor Guard of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier will feature a plaque, Never Forget Roses, and a new veteran wall.

  • Flag Raising Ceremony: The American Legion Coy-Catlin Post 137 will feature Taps and a Gun Salute to honor veterans.

  • Open Membership Meeting: Vote on our new board members.

  • Historical BINGO Scavenger Hunt: Find clues throughout the museum and grounds to complete your card for a prize at the Museum Store!

  • Classic Picnic Games: Enjoy 3-legged races, Ring Toss, Corn Hole, and Hopscotch.

  • Document Your Family History: Create your family’s story through images, collages, or written memories in our "river" of history scroll inside the Museum.

  • Photo Opportunities: Pose in our authentic 1920 Mac Truck or saw a log like a historic logger.

  • Behind-the-Scenes Tour: Sign up for a special “behind the scenes” tour with Museum staff! (limited space: first come, first served).

  • Face Painting with Jennifer Hays: Get creative with your face as the canvas!

  • Live Music: Enjoy the spring air with nostalgic music by the Whiskey Flats Brass Band.

  • Food, Food, and More Food: A birthday isn’t a birthday without cake, ice cream, and food from our local food truck, Tacos PEPE!, or bring your own delicious picnic.
