Louise, or Lou, Palermo has many years of experience as a museum educator, programmer, and building community partnerships. She finds the Columbia River Gorge to be one of the most beautiful places on earth with the most interesting history. She welcomes your visit or email as she works with the community to reimagine this institution.

Jen is as a Navy veteran, the mom of five fabulous kids, and an avid supporter of the Museum. 

With a degree in accounting and  over 20 years experience, Jen is a key member of the management team keeping a keen eye on our budget and facilitating our growth.

Susie Buchanan

Susie worked as an interior designer and a floral designer for over 50 years. Her favorite thing to do is to connect with people and build relationships. She has always worked for herself as well as working for others. She is known as a people person and a peace maker and truly enjoys everyone she meets. This job as a Front Desk Associate at the  Columbia Gorge Museum is right up her alley and she is excited to be part of this team.

 Madeline is elated to add her passion and multifaceted skill set to the Columbia Gorge Museum team! Having lived in Indiana, Montana, Washington, Italy, Scotland, and West Virginia, she developed a love for understanding and showcasing the beauty of different cultures and communities.

She received her Bachelor of Arts from Gonzaga University and holds a Master of Research in Social Anthropology from the University of St Andrews in Scotland. She hopes to leave a lasting, positive impact on the organization and the surrounding community through her work.

Jolea is from Texas and has resided in the Pacific Northwest for the last four years. She enjoys sitting around the campfire, hiking with her dog, visiting libraries, and trying new cups of tea. She is also thrilled to greet you at the Columbia Gorge Museum!

Frank Laolagi
Visitor Experience Manager

Frank brings a strong commitment to public history and the visitor experience to his role at the Columbia Gorge Museum. Through his work at museums and historic sites in his community, he has developed a passion for creating engaging, meaningful experiences that connect people to the past. He received his BA in History from Washington State University and is currently completing his Master’s degree in Public History at the University of Nebraska. Outside of work, Frank enjoys spending time with his family and his three beagles, supporting the mighty Tottenham Hotspur F.C., and serving as a trustee with the Pacific Northwest Labor History Association.
