The Columbia Gorge Museum is proud to present its newest exhibition, Remnants of Gorge History: QUILTS, opening in the Carson Hot Springs Spa Gallery on April 12, 2025.

This collection, created by artists of Beyond the Block: Art Quilters of the Gorge, introduces a stunning display of quilted artwork that weave together the rich history, culture, and natural beauty of the Columbia River Gorge.

Each quilt in this exhibition tells a story—drawing from historical patterns, traditional techniques, and the unique perspectives of local quilters.

Through intricate stitching, color selection, and fabric layering, the collection captures the essence of life in the Gorge, from its rugged landscapes to the communities that have called it home for generations.

This exhibition is not only a celebration of craftsmanship but also a tribute to quilting as a storytelling medium. Visitors are invited to explore the artistry behind these textiles and appreciate the deep connections between fabric, memory, and place.

Remnants of Gorge History: QUILTS will be available for public viewing from April 12 through June 12 during Museum hours (10am to 5pm). An opening reception will be held on April 12 at 2pm for all visitors.
